Recent News:
In March 2009 Salecich became a new member of the Platypus Verein für neue Musik, based in Vienna.
Encompassing now six core members, the Platypus New Music Group organises concerts primarily in Vienna, with special projects like their recent one in Mexico. Their feature event is the "Marathon", where young composers are indiscriminately invited to have their works performed. The Marathons last much longer than a normal concert, and they are often conducted in a series spanning over two or three nights. The next concert will feature Japanese composers and is to be held at the Schubertsaal in Wiener Konzerthaus, 3 July 2009.
The Platypus Group are: Hannes Dufek (President), Alexander Chrenyshkov, Fernando Riederer, Daniel Salecich, Šimon Voseček and Jaime Wolfson.
New Band:: MidasDivas
In the role of violinist/composer, Salecich is now part of a new crossover/jazz/cabaret band, formed in January 2009. MidasDivas have invited many composers to write for them, including Azzi Finder, Oskar Aichinger, Michael Radanovics and cellist Michael Dallinger and naturally Salecich himself.
It looks like it is going to be an exciting project!
MidasDivas are:: Béatrice Petitet-Kircher Voice | Jarosław Gałuszka accordion | Daniel Salecich violin | Martina Engel viola | Michael Dallinger cello
Older Performances:: Ver-rückte Grenzen

Older Performances:: Project Luminal
28/29 March, 2008, Melbourne, Australia
With two well-received performances from star quartet Silo String Quartet the world premiere of Salecich's latest epic for String Quartet, «dreaming of. . .», found its way into the hearts and minds of Melbourne concert-goers.
The work was complimented by David Chisholm's work Luminal, from which the project derived its name. These two works focussed on heavy topics: they both drew their inspiration from from Robert Jay Lifton's study The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide.
Luminal, from which the project derived its name, was the sedative repeatedly and secretively administered to children marked for the euthanasia program in the late 1930s, under the German Nazi Party.
With sincere thanks:

Salecich's recently finished work «re.saturate.d» has been composed for the Viennese-based ensemble Trio Lacroix|Moser|Sterev. The work is fast and action-paced: a "super-saturated" landscape drawing from both ultra-modernist sources and trance-like repetitive music that becomes much more complex than may appear on first impressions.
This work was presented by the Trio on 31 January 2008 in Graz, Austria, at the Kulturzentrum Minoriten.
