Taking a simple note and changing its tonal properties, alles.leberkraft is a exercise in low-fi rumblings and subtle pitch-nuances, but played full-throttle with pseudo-hard-rock gestures. There is a drawing towards the actual 'noise' associated with playing the bass: its striking ability to play a true sul ponticello, and the rich overtones and sounds that exist on and behind the bridge.
The challenge for the performer is to exploit these rich and varying contrasts, showing how interesting just one note can become, yet at the same time in full control of each sonic action and their consequences.
